On the XBLA this week we've got two awesome titles from Sega's Vintage Collection. Sonic the Hedgehog and Golden Axe are available each for a measly 400 points. I've been playing around with them since they came out last night and they are both superb. I really like the style they have thrown into the menu interface for the games, it feels very Vista-esque with it's wavy background and smooth flying/zooming windows. Sonic plays like it always did, and Golden Axe is one of the best co-op games on the XBLA to date. They both offer widescreen resolutions and give you the option to play classic graphics or a smoothed over (looks kinda like a posterized Photoshop filter). Very good titles, and very good price.

I really should start getting into some of these Turbografx games, this one looks like it's actually interesting. Air Zonk has you going off on a shoot 'em up adventure with your sunglasses toting team mates "Team Cool", what's not to like. I'm not too interested in Mach Rider, but Yoshi could keep my attention for a short while. Kinda like Rootbeer tapper on magic mushrooms, why not?
